EA has just revealed their plans on when they will unveil the features for NCAA Football 13.  EA has done this the last couple of years with Madden and I think it’s something that the community can look forward to.  I get ask multiple times on when I can talk about certain features of the upcoming game and now here is the schedule.  Some of the brief descriptions are a little surprising as they reveal a little bit more than I thought they would. I mean if you are a gameplay guy and you see “new passing system” you got to be excited, but I’d say wait till you hear everything.  And then when you see “former Heisman Trophy winners” being involved somehow get’s you thinking.

Here is the schedule:

Playbook #1: Sights & Sounds (April 2nd)

  • Revel in the pageantry of college football game days with NCAA Football 13. Featuring new team run-outs, mascots and pre-game traditions along with significantly enhanced audio and new trophy presentations, NCAA Football 13 will deliver the passion and excitement of college football to fans across the nation.

Playbook #2: Gameplay (April 17)

  • With a new passing system that changes the way quarterbacks and receivers play and respond, combined with a new read and react defensive AI system, NCAA Football 13 delivers greater realism on the virtual gridiron.

Playbook #3: Dynasty (May 7)

  • Game days come to life with mid-game updates featuring a new studio analyst, plus enhanced commentary from NCAA Football veterans Kirk Herbstreit and Brad Nessler. Recruiting now goes deeper than ever with the addition of dynamic grades and the ability to scout players. Plus, there are even more ways to interact with your Dynasty from the web.

Playbook #4: Heisman Challenge (May 28)

  • There are familiar faces on the field in NCAA Football 13, which now features a selection of former Heisman Trophy winners. With the new Heisman Challenge mode, fans have the ability to utilize the skill set of a legendary Heisman Trophy winner in a quest to match his award-winning historical performances and win the Heisman trophy once again.

Playbook #5: Road to Glory (June 11)

  • The experience of being a college football superstar is now even more exciting with a new feature in Road to Glory that allows players to see and feel the game differently during key moments, increasing on-field awareness and creating amazing opportunities.

Robert Griffin III is the NCAA Football 13 Cover Athlete

There was a lot of speculation about RG3 going into the NFL Combine this past weekend.  Was he tall enough, is he really that fast, and would he grace the cover of NCAA Football 13.  Well after this past weekend and this morning all those questions are answered with a resounding YES!

Today on the Dan Patrick Show, RG3 himself announced that he would be the Cover Athlete for NCAA Football 13.  This really comes as no shock as he is the most intriguing player in the 2012 NFL Draft and most likely will be a monster in Madden NFL 13.  We’ll talk more about how his impact could be felt in Madden on Game Changers Radio tomorrow night, but the intangibles like his 4.4 40 time will be something desired by every Madden player for his team.

Griffin continues the latest run of Heisman trophy winners to grace the cover of NCAA Football following previous Heisman winners Mark Ingram and Tim Tebow.

It’s not only RGIII on the cover of NCAA Football 13, there someone else and that’s left up to the fans.  Here is a statement from EA on their NCAA Facebook Page:

Beginning March 12, fans will be able to vote for one of eight Heisman Trophy winners to accompany Griffin III on the cover of NCAA Football 13 here on the EA Sports NCAA Football Facebook page.

There have been some speculation because of Twitter messages sent by @BarrySanders saying he was working with EA SPORTS on Heisman stuff for NCAA Football 13.  Not sure who the other former Heisman players are, but I would love to see Barry on the cover.

NCAA Football is set to release July 10th.

Hey guys, Day 3 in Orlando for the NCAA Football 13 Community Day and things are shaping up great.  I think everyone will be happy with the individuals that were selected to be voices for the Community Down here.  We have a lot of Dynasty guys, Gameplay guys and even some Road to Glory guys giving feedback.  Developers had little mini feedback sessions on a few topics yesterday where we aired out a lot of complaints that the community had and we were brutally honest.  In the video I talk about some of the feedback that we had and then I touch on a tweet I received.  Enjoy!

NCAA Football 13 Community Blog #1 – History of Community Days

Hey guys, I’m on my way to another EA SPORTS Community Day (this one for NCAA Football 13).  I plan on keeping you updated with as much info as I can share.  Just so you know we are under NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) so there won’t be any revelations shared in this blog but I do plan on trying to set up some video interviews with some developers and at least some of the other EA SPORTS Game Changers that were invited out.

Before I update anything I want to sort of give you a brief history of Community Days as I know it.  Back in 2005 I was invited to my first Madden NFL Community Day.  It was funny how it came about.  I had started a Madden Fan Site called Madden Wars and it had a very nice following that came over from another Madden Fan site that went down.  Back then there were some big Madden Fan sites like Madden Nation, Madden Mania, and VG Sports.  I’m sure there were others but these were the ones I knew about.  I remember getting an email from some guy stating he was from EA SPORTS and wanted me to come and participate in a Madden Community Day.  I didn’t even know what a Community Day was and didn’t believe the email.  I thought some guys from my site had sent it to me trying to be funny.  I reluctantly responded to the email with my info and then received an Airline Ticket via email for a trip out to Redwood City, California.  You can imagine how excited I was and floored that I was being invited to have a preview of Madden 2005 before anyone else.  To make a long story short, I got there, they showed a group of us the game and let us take a copy home to play.

Things have surely changed since that July week in 2004.  Back then Community Day’s weren’t really about feedback at all.  It was more about letting us preview the game and then taking it back to post, write, and share the game with our community.  It was more a promotion based event but feedback was given to, just too late to do anything about it that year.  Since then EA SPORTS has been flying gamers down to their Tiburon Studios earlier and earlier every year.  Last year a group of us came out in January and EA SPORTS is doing it again.  If you talk to the developers they are very happy for us to come out and share with them the feedback of the community as a whole, not just my piece of the community.  There are more of us that come out (started with about 6 in 2003) and we come out more than once a year.

Well that’s it for this entry, just wanted to give you a brief history of Community Days at EA SPORTS.  If you have any feedback for NCAA Football 13 or Madden NFL 13, please hit me up on here or catch me on Twitter @Shopmaster

Oh and “Roll Tide!”

NCAA Football 12 Official Player’s Guide Giveaway

Hey guys, Prima Games was kind enough to send me some NCAA Football 12 Official Player’s Guides.  This guide is jam packed with strategies and tips for success.  Sgibs and ZFarlz from MaddenBible.com have spent more hours on NCAA Football 12 than anyone else and they held nothing back in giving you the best tips to dominate on both sides of the ball.

I’m giving away this guide for free to those who are members here at MyMaddenPad.com.

First let me tell you a little bit about the guide and then I will tell you how you can win one for FREE.

Five Sets For Success

The MaddenBible guys have always had the philosophy of “5 sets for success”.  In this guide they deliver this for both offense and defense.

Here are the 5 Sets for offense they suggest:

Three Headed Rushing Attack: Power Run

Quick Pass: RedZone

Man Beater: Compress

Zone Beater: Trips/Bunch

Base Play: Balanced/Hybrid

The guys do a great job of breaking down how effective these plays are and what to look for from the defense.

The guide breaks down team strategy for 120 college teams, cover all the offensive and defensive styles, and shows you how to attack the zone coverage that many people are having problems with.

So how do you get your hands on a guide? Easy.

You need to have at least 100 MMP Points.  To find out how many MMP Points you have just go to your profile and check under your avatar.

Now to those that have 100 MMP Points, just reply to this post and that’s it.  I will be drawing 2 names randomly that have 100 points on Monday afternoon.  The guides will be mailed out Tuesday morning.

Good Luck!
