Everyone is always so obsessed with player ratings when it comes to the Madden NFL franchise and today I will feed on that obsession a little bit and will concentrate on 1 rating for one player. That player is Robert Griffin III and that rating is his 76 Playaction (PAC) rating.

Madden NFL 13 Team Ratings

Written by Shopmaster on . Posted in Madden News 19 Comments

Usually right around this time when all the new features are being discussed and videos from E3 start rolling out, the eagerness to know the team ratings arises.  This year on the E3 floor EA SPORTS hid their team ratings by putting ?? up.  This didn’t deter the guys over at Operation Sports from finding the team ratings and uploading an image of it.

Please note that these ratings are subject to change and probably will before release.

I have compiled the list here from best team to worst:

1.  Green Bay Packers – 86

2.  New England Patriots – 86

3.  Pittsburgh Steelers – 85

4.  New York Giants – 84

5.  Philadelphia Eagles – 84

Could RG3 Be The Best Rookie In Madden History?

Written by Shopmaster on . Posted in Feature, Madden News 1 Comment

featured_rg3rookie

With the news of Robert Griffin III announcing that he’s going to grace the cover of NCAA Football 13, it’s what his virtual character will be in Madden NFL 13 that will probably make him the best rookie to ever be in the Madden franchise and something that RG3 himself will rooting for.

In an article on ESPN, Robert Griffin III talks about the draft and video games, and sounds more interested in what his ratings may be in Madden NFL 13.  When Madden NFL’s Rating Czar Donny Moore is questioned about RG3′s ratings in Madden NFL 13, he had this to say:

“We could be looking at the best rookie in the history of ‘Madden’.  It’s all about speed in people’s minds, and the way RG3 runs, and with his arm strength, he’s going to be one of the most fun characters to play as this year.”

I have to agree with Donny Moore on that.  He is going to be more electric than I think Vick was when he was on the cover of Madden 2004.  He may not be as fast as I don’t think he’ll be a 95 SPD as Griffin thinks he should be, but his arm and the ratings that go with it will be better than Vick.  He should also have a high awareness?  Here is what I think RG3 stats should look like:

Robert Griffin III  -  86 OVR |  91 SPD  |  93 ACC  |  58 STR  |  78 AWR  |  67 TRK  |  85 ELU  |  94 THP  |  88 SAC  |  84 MAC  |  86 DAC  |  84 RUN  |  73 PAC

RG3 thinks he should be awesome in the game also.  Here’s what he said about Donny Moore’s comments when he was told:

“That would be awesome if the ‘Madden’ guys do that for me.  Sometimes they don’t do that for rookie quarterbacks, but with the way I played last year and with the way I performed at the combine, that should shoot my ratings straight through the roof. I’m excited to see my guy in the game.

I know I have a strong arm, I’m accurate, and my awareness is pretty high out there. My speed will probably be 95 or above and that’s pretty sweet. Not many guys can do that, so that’s really exciting. From there, I just want to work on getting my speed up to 97 or 98 in ‘Madden.’”

Are you kidding me RG3, there is no way you will be a 97 or 98 speed in Madden. I don’t think he knows how unstoppable he would be if he ever got to that speed.

If you disagree with any of it let me know and we can debate but there will be no debate on weather RG3 will make any team he goes to, one of the most used teams in Madden NFL 13.

Madden NFL 12 Week 7 Roster update is available now for the XBOX 360 and PS3.  A couple of QB’s who had bad performances this past week took big hits as Matt Moore; QB for the Dolphins, was knocked down from a 73 to a 71 and Rex Grossman; Redskins, went from a 77 to a 75 and was moved down on the depth chart.

Here are the rest of the changes and moves for this weeks roster update:

Hello Madden fans, Donny Moore the Madden Ratings Czar here with the Week 7 Roster Update!

There are well over 300+ transactions, player equipment updates, and player rating adjustments that went into this update for the online rosters.

The biggest movers from Week 6 on the positive side are TE Jimmy Graham (NO) with a 4 point boost this week (now 90 overall – Hello Eliteville!), DE Andre Carter (NE) going +3 to 83 overall, CB Chris Cook (MIN) going up +5 to a 74 overall, S Kurt Coleman (PHI) goes up +4 to 76 overall, OL Cameron Bradfield (JAX) going up 5 points to 60, WR Naaman Roosevelt (BUF) going up +4 to a 65 and finally, DT Terrence Cody (BAL) going up +3 to a 74 overall.

Some of the biggest movers on the negative side are OL Will Rackley (from 70 to 68 overall), QB Matt Moore (from 73 to 71 overall) and S Deon Grant (from 83 to 80 overall).

We also have some major movement in terms of team overalls.  We are asking you the fans to vote on the team overall on every Tuesday morning here on Facebook.

Madden NFL 12 Rookie Ratings: Top Quarterbacks

Cam_Newton_Top_QB_656x369

EA releases the top rookie quarterbacks:

A fresh infusion of talent by way of the NFL draft is the surest way your favorite team can build for the future. Why do you think we always debate the top draft classes and not the top free agency classes of all time? We get excited adding rookies to Madden NFL 12 too. Rather than tweaking and adjusting ratings for the same old veterans we get to build new guys from scratch, projecting how they’ll transition to the pro game. If only their coaches could do that.

Rookie quarterbacks in Madden NFL 12 almost have it as tough as their real life counterparts. If a player isn’t a Hall of Fame caliber player after his first snap, he’s immediately subject to more verbal abuse from fans than he’s ever heard in his life. Whether you’re yelling at them –or for them– with a remote control, gamepad or $10 pretzel in your hand, quarterbacks get far too much credit and far too much blame for their team’s success or failure.

In Madden NFL 12 the rookie QBs will likely be subject to even more scrutiny with the addition of player traits and tendencies as those are just more metrics on which you can base your hastily formed opinions after each snap.

10. Greg McElroy – NYJ – 65 OVR

9. T.J. Yates – HOU – 66 OVR

8. Ricky Stanzi – KC – 68 OVR

7. Ryan Mallett – NE – 69 OVR

6. Colin Kaepernick – SF – 70 OVR

5. Andy Dalton – CIN – 71 OVR

4. Christian Ponder – MIN – 73 OVR

3. Jake Locker – TEN – 74 OVR

2. Blaine Gabbert – JAX – 75 OVR

1. Cam Newton – CAR – 77 OVR

Again nobody from this group, including the #1 overall pick, breaks into the 80s with their overall rating. Quarterbacks have it extremely tough when it comes to ratings, though. Drew Brees only briefly flirted with a 99 OVR rating after posting a 5000-yard passing season in ’08 and then leading New Orleans’ celebrated Super Bowl run in ‘09; Ben Roethlisberger has a pair of Super Bowl rings and he only hovers around a 90 OVR in Madden NFL games. So now what do you think Cam Newton will have to do for Carolina to get into even the low 80s as a rookie?

Don’t forget, we’ll be consistently updating all rosters and all players during the 2011 NFL season, so these lists are just a starting point. Keep it here for more on Madden NFL 12 rookies, ratings and info.

Madden NFL 12 Rookie Ratings: Top Linebackers

Rather than tweaking and adjusting ratings for the same old veterans we get to build new guys from scratch, projecting how they’ll transition to the pro game. If only their coaches could do that.

The group of rookie linebackers in Madden NFL 12 covers a lot of defenders. Some are pass rushers or runstoppers and they can line up in the middle, on the weakside or even on the line in a three-point stance. Speed at this position can make even the most mediocre defensive Madden NFL player a dangerous opponent.

10. Bruce Carter – OLB – DAL – 67 OVR

9. Kelvin Sheppard – MLB – BUF – 67 OVR

8. Colin McCarthy – MLB – TEN – 67 OVR

7. Martez Wilson – MLB – NO – 68 OVR

6. Brooks Reed – OLB – HOU – 69 OVR

5. Casey Matthews – OLB – PHI – 71 OVR

4. Akeem Ayers – OLB – TEN – 72 OVR

3. Ryan Kerrigan – OLB – WAS – 74 OVR

2. Aldon Smith – OLB – SF – 76 OVR

1. Von Miller – OLB – DEN – 79 OVR

Nobody from this group breaks into the 80s but make no mistake, Bronco and Niner fans are expecting big things out of Von Miller and Aldon Smith, respectively. With those new linebackers in the mix Tennessee will have a formidable defense in Madden NFL 12 once again. Smothering with defense may not look pretty but it can be a winning gameplan.

Don’t forget, we’ll be consistently updating all rosters and all players during the 2011 NFL season, so these lists are just a starting point. Keep it here for more on Madden NFL 12 rookies, ratings and info.

Madden NFL 12 Rookie Ratings: Top Defensive Linemen

EA releases the top rookie defensive linemen:

A fresh infusion of talent by way of the NFL draft is the surest way your favorite team can build for the future. Why do you think we always debate the top draft classes and not the top free agency classes of all time? We get excited adding rookies to Madden NFL 12 too. Rather than tweaking and adjusting ratings for the same old veterans we get to build new guys from scratch, projecting how they’ll transition to the pro game. If only their coaches could do that.

Here’s a look at the top rookie defensive linemen in Madden NFL 12. These guys can make all the difference in your blitz packages as the CPU is going to be in control of most of your D-linemen more often than not. The 2011 NFL draft was deep in defensive line talent, at least on paper. In Madden NFL 12, as in the NFL itself, these guys can be penciled in as anchors to any defense.

10. Da’Quan Bowers – DE – TB – 74 OVR

9. Cameron Heyward – DE – PIT – 74 OVR

8. Phil Taylor – DT – CLE – 74 OVR

7. Corey Liuget – DE – SD – 75 OVR

6. Nick Fairley – DT – DET – 77 OVR

5. Cameron Jordan – DE – NO – 77 OVR

4. Adrian Clayborn – DE – TB – 78 OVR

3. Robert Quinn – DE – STL – 78 OVR

2. J.J. Watt – DE – HOU – 80 OVR

1. Marcell Dareus – DE – BUF – 82 OVR

Two quick observations: a) Marcell Dareus’ skills and athletic ability must be tremendous if he’s sharing the honor of top rookie with Patrick Peterson and b) Tampa Bay’s 4-3 is going to be a force in Madden NFL 12. Also, it will be interesting to go through Nick Fairley’s individual ratings with a microscope after everybody flipped at the thought of him teaming up with Ndmukong Suh during the NFL Draft.

We’ll be consistently updating all rosters and all players during the 2011 NFL season, so these lists are just a starting point. Keep it here for more on Madden NFL 12 rookies, ratings and info.

Today we’re looking at top rated rookie wide receivers in Madden NFL 12. Like strikers in soccer, wide receivers are the glory position in the NFL and there always seems to be a rookie that can make a huge impact on his new team. Last year, Tampa Bay’s Mike Williams shushed all doubters with 11 touchdown catches and 900+ yards receiving. While his ratings in Madden NFL 12 will be much higher, maybe you can figure out which one of these rookies can be a consistent threat in your passing attack.

10. Greg Salas – STL – 66 OVR

9. Titus Young – DET – 67 OVR

8. Leonard Hankerson – WAS – 67 OVR

7. Vincent Brown – SD – 68 OVR

6. Torrey Smith – BAL – 69 OVR

5. Greg Little – CLE – 70 OVR

4. Randall Cobb – GB – 70 OVR

3. Jonathan Baldwin – KC – 71 OVR

2. Julio Jones – ATL – 78 OVR

1. A.J. Green – CIN – 80 OVR

The Julio Jones-to-Atlanta draft trade takes on new meaning when there’s a number assigned to the rookie receiver, doesn’t it? And Cleveland still has a Top 5 –according to Madden NFL 12—rookie receiver in Greg Little to show for it. And let’s not forget how Jonathan Baldwin ended up in Kansas City with the Chiefs sneaking into the 26th overall pick when they came into the draft owning the 27th pick. It seems like wide receivers get all the NFL attention even before they catch their first touchdowns.

Remember we’ll be consistently updating all rosters and all players during the 2011 NFL season, so these lists are just a starting point. Keep it here for more on Madden NFL 12 rookies, ratings and info.

Donny moore releases more rookie ratings today. Here’s his official statement:

A fresh infusion of talent by way of the NFL draft is the surest way your favorite team can build for the future. Rather than tweaking and adjusting ratings for the same old veterans we get to build new guys from scratch, projecting how they’ll transition to the pro game. If only their coaches could do that.

Today we’re looking at the top rookie running backs in Madden NFL 12 according to ratings. Running to daylight should be the same in the NFL as it was in college, right? We’ll see as these ball carriers adjust to the speed and tackling ability of NFL defenders.

There are a lot more rookies in a lot more categories –like Top Wide Receivers or Linemen—so keep it locked here. For now, get to know this batch of first year players.

10. Steven Ridley – NE – 67 OVR

9. Delone Carter – IND – 68 OVR

8. Jacquizz Rogers – ATL – 69 OVR

7. DeMarco Murray – DAL – 69 OVR

6. Shane Veree – NE – 69 OVR

5. Daniel Thomas – MIA – 70 OVR

4. Kendall Hunter – SF – 71 OVR

3. Mike Leshoure – DET – 72 OVR

2. Ryan Williams – ARZ – 73 OVR

1. Mark Ingram – NO – 79 OVR

Those are the top rookie running backs in Madden NFL 12 and the number one runner should be no surprise. We put Mark Ingram on the cover of NCAA Football 12 for a reason. New England isn’t the only team to land two rooks in one of our rookie top ten lists, either. There are a lot more rookies in a lot more categories still to come with a few surprises mixed in.

Remember we’ll be consistently updating all rosters and all players during the 2011 NFL season, so these lists are just a starting point. Keep it here for more on Madden NFL 12 rookies, ratings and info.
