Madden NFL 13 – Salary Cap Glitch Fixed via Server Side

Written by Shopmaster on . Posted in Feature, Madden News 8 Comments

cap

After the Madden Title Update #4 came out last week, a lot of Madden fans out there were disappointed that some of the glaring issues for Madden NFL 13 were still not addressed.  Well tomorrow 12/7 EA SPORTS will be sending through a server side fix to fix the Salary Cap bug in CCM that made some teams billions of dollars above the cap for both the XBO 360 and PS3. This will solve the problem for Online CCMs.  From my source inside of EA Tiburon I was told:

We are sending a server side fix to the Salary Cap glitch tomorrow morning. The update should fix all existing Connected Careers and prevent the issue from happening again. – EA Employee

I asked if CCMs that turned off Salary Cap could turn it back on and was told yes.  So this should make a lot of online CCM fans very happy and fans in general because EA is listening even if they don’t admit or make a statement that they are.  Hopefully, this is not the end of trying to fix the bugs in Madden 13.

Now it seems as if you can’t just flip the switch of the Salary Cap on if your league turned it off as previous told to me.

Madden 13 Title Update #4 Does Not Fix Major Bugs

Written by Shopmaster on . Posted in Feature, Madden News 3 Comments

mmp_title4update

Today; Thursday November 29th, Madden NFL 13 will be receiving it’s 4th Title Update since the game came out in September.  There have been numerous bugs fixed in the previous updates but as all Madden 13 fans know there are still some that need to be addressed and this latest update does nothing to fix some of the most talked about bugs in the Madden Community.  It’s a shame too because the Madden Community is going to be real upset over this latest update.  I myself am very, very disappointed, shocked, and a little disgusted by this Title Update that does nothing but fuel the fire for those who are now turning against this Madden Development team which was revered earlier this year as turning this franchise around.

Here is a portion of the article found on Joystiq.com outlining the details of the title update:

The fourth title update for Madden NFL 13 is scheduled to go live November 29, and includes a few new features for Madden Ultimate Team (MUT). The ability to set multiple lineups for your MUT squad highlights the list of changes. Players will now be able to save up to five different lineups.

These Madden 13title update bug fixes are the same across Xbox 360 and PS3:

  • Fixed bug where Connected Careers panel in main menu is blank
  • Fixed exploit in Madden Ultimate Team Solo Challenges where players were using frozen kick meter to run out the clock
  • Fixed issue in Panthers playbook where Shotgun formation was properly displaying
  • Fixed squib kick exploit
  • Fixed exploit that allowed MLB to get instant pressure when in a specific position with a specific coverage called
  • Fixed bug when reviewing a friend’s depth chart in Madden Ultimate Team
  • Fixed erroneous screen telling Madden Ultimate Team players EA servers were unavailable when an opponent signed out before progressing to the loading screen
  • Fixed issue where replaying completed Solo Challenges in Madden Ultimate Team consumed contracts
  • Fixed issue where Connected Careers offline depth chart would reset after each game when player used imported My Madden roster
  • Fixed issue where users could not save edits to existing NFL players whose names were flagged as profane.
  • Fixed exploit where Madden Ultimate Team users who were kicked out a match for grieving were still granted 800 coins
  • Fixed a menu display bug in Madden Ultimate Team matchmaking screen

Now I know that a lot of people like MUT but this really isn’t an update to fix bugs, it’s seems it more about providing more features for Madden Ultimate Team Mode.  In the Joystiq.com article an EA rep was quoted as saying this:

“What we’re really striving for is aiming these title updates not just at bug fixes, but adding brand-new content so people feel like they’re constantly getting a new game experience,”

I’m not quite sure this is really accurate.  The only new content that they provide are for MUT. Every week there are new collection of cards for MUT and that has some fans saying that EA only cares about the money.  Now some will say, well they added Fantasy Draft and Player Editing and that’s all good, but that’s not brand-new content.  That’s adding something that should have been added from the beginning and something that we had last year.

The article also mentioned that there is another announcement set to be released later this week and I’m hoping, just hoping that EA at least acknowledges the bugs that are still out there.  I really think that’s where a lot of the anguish and hatred comes from.  I try to pass on as much information as I can to everyone, but people want to hear it form EA themselves, they want to know that EA knows about the problems and I know EA doesn’t make any statements but this would go a long ways in the Madden Community.

Two of the bugs that are highly discussed in the Madden Community is the inability to press and jam a WR on the left side of the field (PS3 only) and the Salary Cap glitch in CCM where some people end up being 1 billion over the cap.  Those are a huge topics and I don’t think there has been any kind of EA SPORTS statement saying that they are aware and are working on fixing those issues.  I know they know and I know they are looking into it but that’s because I talked to people at EA but I really feel they need to come out and say something to the Community itself.

EA SPORTS with this latest update is doing nothing to get away from the “in it for the money” mentality that some fans have been accusing EA SPORTS for some time especially when they are getting so much money from their Madden Ultimate Team transaction. I believe that this Madden Development team is going in the right direction but even I myself feels a little frustration that things like the Jaming on the PS3 and the Salary Cap bug is not being fixed but time is being put on MUT new features.

I love Thanksgiving Day, it’s a time to get up with family, eat well, and watch some football.  If your family is anything like my family then you know that family just doesn’t come over for Thanksgiving Dinner, they are there all day and get to your place early.  So while your waiting for the games to come on here are 5 things you can do with Madden to pass the time away:

5. Catch up on CCM Tasks: If you get up early because the wifey wants you to straighten up a little before family arrives take time to catch up on your CCM after you are done before family arrives. Do your practices, negotiate contracts, progress your players and do some scouting.

When I was growing up my mom wore a specific shirt every Sunday and it read “I root for two teams on Sunday.  The Redskins and whoever is playing the Cowboys.”  So it wasn’t a question who I was rooting for on Sundays and as I grew up I grew up really loving the Washington Redskins and was very grateful for seeing them win Championships.  Some fans have never seen their team win 1 Superbowl and I happen to see 3. I remember when I was 8 and my uncle took me to go see the Redskins play the Dallas Cowboys at RFK.  That Day we lost to the Dallas Cowboy 26-10, and I think I even cried in the car going home.  It was the first game of the season and we end up losing our 5 games that season.

week12rosters

Colin Kaepernick and Justin Blackmon come off of big performances in week 11 and were rewarded this week as Donny Moore gives them 3 point boosts in the latest Madden ratigns.  Matt Shaub goes up +2 after a 526 yard performance and Andre Johnson; who personally won my Fantasy Football game, goes up 2 points after his 14 catches and 273 yards.

Some of the biggest movers on the negative side are Atlanta OL Todd McClure (from 90 to 88 overall), Green Bay Kicker Mason Crosby (from 82 to 79 overall), Chicago OL J’Marcus Webb (from 76 to 71 overall), and Pittsburgh OL Mike Adams (from 77 to 75 overall).

Doug Martin of the Tampa Bay Buccanears had an all-pro day last week when he racked up 251 yards on 25 carries including 4 TDs.  Dubbed the ‘Muscle Hamster’ (which he thinks is the worse nickname ever) leads the way this week in the Week 10 Madden NFL Ratings Update as he gets a 4 point increase going from a 83 to and 87 overall.  Eli Manning of the Giants is one of the big losers, losing 2 overall points and going to an 95 overall.

Madden NFL 13 Week 9 Roster Update

Week 9 Roster Update

With the NFL Season getting ready for the second half of games, it should be noted that I’m wondering what it takes for a player to get a ratings decrease.  Calvin Johnson has been stinking it up.  He’s dropped wide open TD passes in the last couple of weeks yet he is still a 98 OVR.  I’ve seen linemen go down after giving up a sack, we should hold Cover Athletes to the same scrutiny.  In other news, after the performance by Tom Brady in London he goes from a 98 to the elite 99 OVR rating.

The other news is that Aqib Talib (88OVR) who was traded to the Pats Thursday did not make it in this latest roster update.  Maybe one will come out on Saturday with that move but for now Buc fans, you can still cover.

Here are the rest of the ratings:

An All Out Riot Breaks Loose in Madden NFL 13

It’s funny and it’s not funny at the same time but I had to share.  Some poor guy snapped the ball in an online head to head game and a riot or WWE Royal Rumble broke out.  Some of you guys have seen this video but I could not stop laughing at the commentary and how crazy this video is.  Please note that this video contains some explicit language.

Enjoy.

Snapshot 10:26:12 8:13 AM

This week in the Madden NFL 13 Roster Update for week 8 we see some interesting additions added to players. If you saw the Pittsburgh game on Sunday, you saw Mike Wallace drop a couple of passes.  I should know because I have him on my fantasy football team and those drops were big.  Well it looks like I wasn’t the only one who noticed as Donny Moore and the Madden Live Team gave Mr. Wallace the “Drops Open Passes” trait.

There are over 400+ transactions and player rating adjustments that went into this roster update.   There are also a lot of equipment changes that went into this update as well.

Here are the list of ratings:
