Madden 25 Pro-Tip #2: How To Stop The Run

In this Madden 25 Pro-Tip I show you how to slow down the run game in Madden NFL 25 by giving you 3 Key Points and Techniques.

Key Points:

1. Commit To The Run

What I mean by this is making sure you have 8 in the box and match personnel.  If someone comes out in a compressed set you shouldn’t be defending that with a quarter or Nickle Defense.  Commit to stopping the run!

2. Fill the Run Gaps

Fill the run gaps, clog up those blockers so the CPU can make a play.  This is great advice for newer guys who don’t have the skills to make a user play.  Filling the gap will make the CPU block you and then make a CPU on your team available to make a play on the ball carrier.

3. Place Deep Blue in Short Yellow

When defending the run in the  redzone, don’t have deep blues on the field.  Meaning no one should be covering deep because there is no deep.  Put those guys in a short yellow and they will react a lot faster.

Never realized the secondary took those steps back in the red zone. Very helpful!
