36 Days Till Madden NFL 13 – Don’t Handcuff Yourself Already

Madden NFL 13 will be released on August 28th, 2012 and we’ll countdown to that moment with tips, task lists,  answers to burning questions you have, and information that will get you ready to play some Madden 13.

36 Days Till Madden NFL 13 – Don’t Handcuff Yourself Already

Yes, we already know some of the deficiencies in this years Madden NFL game with no ability to edit players in CCM and no fantasy draft; some are taking it hard.  I’ve talked about it, even gave you some helpful information to get your frustrations out to EA with the Game Changers Ideas site, but it’s way too early to declare your not playing Madden NFL 13 this year.  It’s only June and I’m reading where guys are not going to give the game a chance.  So with 36 Days out till Madden NFL 13 and even less for the demo, I’m saying don’t handcuff yourself already.

Look, I’m a big Online Franchise guy, and it pained me to see no significant Online Franchise upgrade to Madden NFL 12.  I was upset, but guess what.  I still was in about 5 Online Franchises last year.  I know, it’s not the same as your favorite feature being taken away but honestly; even if they scrapped Online Franchise last year, I still would have played Madden NFL 12 a ton.  I’m not saying don’t continue to voice your displeasure, anger, disgust with EA SPORTS; because you definitely should.

What I’m asking is wait till the Madden NFL 13 Demo comes out, download it, play it, digest physics.  But before then, read up on all the Connected Career information, watch the webcasts of the MUT and gameplay, look around for some online leagues with some good guys.  You never know, player editing may be something you can live without for 1 year.

That’s it! There were just some posts, tweets I saw yesterday that made me want to write about this.  It’s only July guys, let’s not get carried away!

Here some additional reason to not handcuff yourself in July and make your mind up that your not playing Madden NFL 13:

1.  All the videos you’ve seen on YouTube are not final retail versions of the game …

2.  NFL hasn’t started, who says that your Cleveland Browns won’t trade for Tom Brady before the season starts?

3.  You could win one of those cool EA SPORTS Madden NFL 13 VIP Kits with the Dre Beat Headphones from Madden’s Facebook Page … just saying.

4.  You’ll get tired of playing NCAA Football 13 eventually.

5.  NBA2K13 won’t be out before then … lol

I’ve been very disappointed with what I’ve seen so far in Madden 13. Combining three separate modes into one may save EA in development costs, but I bet it hurts them in sales even more. I used to pre-order every year, now I’m going to wait until someone turns in a used copy to gamestop and they’ll be getting my money instead.

EA may listen to consumers, but they don’t seem to act on our concerns. They fill the game with fluff (how many times is anyone really going to watch the pregame show?) for marketing reasons and dont have time to implement key features that have been in the game for years! Can’t even express how disgusted I am with EA; Let’s hope they get some competition soon.

If you are talking about Fantasy Draft and Editing Players not in the game then I agree with you. I do however don’t agree with the fluff this year. They are still in need of some improvement, but the improvement that they have done this year is no fluff. Name 1 fluff feature this year in the gameplay. All of that stuff they added was needed. Is Physics fluff? Trajectory, read and react defense, those things were much needed cause they were lacking.

I’ve followed some of your videos on YouTube and checked out some of your posts on here and you should definitely prepare for harsh reaction you may get if/when readers decide that you’ve been “turned”. A lot of you “Game Changers” seem to be getting used as marketing pieces. From being a hardcore YouTube critic to being an honorary EA/Madden poster boy(s). You and so many others that had people interested in what you thought was right/wrong the game have all been rounded up, given a free trip to Orlando, given behind the scenes early access to one of the United State’s most popular video game franchises. You’ve been given a name that’s marketable and desirable by the young demographic in which the game is now catering to. You’ve been sworn to secrecy and asked to make mention of the products and initiatives of the Publisher of the aforementioned franchise. You’re not directly selling the product; just being asked to keep the potential consumer talking about the product: good or bad. You should know by the results of year’s past that Tiburon is already working on patches for the Madden franchise’s next iteration. Every year the development teams mention that they start working the next Madden before the current Madden ships. With 32 days left before it ships and maybe 15 days before it goes Gold, the development teams have most likely shifted concentration at this point. If this year’s iteration isn’t a success in the eyes of the gamers that once respected you and others like you, will it have been worth becoming a TOOL over?—–Conspiracy Reader(s)

I’m not sure you’ve been following my videos on YouTube if you’ve say I’ve “Turned”. I’ve never done harsh videos on YouTube, that’s not my style. Go check, maybe you have me confused with TSS or something, but I have never made a harsh video. I love playing Madden, but at the same time am very critical when it comes to the feedback to the developers. I’ve been going down to Orlando for quite a while and I don’t care how critical you are of the game and how much feedback we give the game developers, we do not make the game. Do we influence, hell yeah, but if they say they are not putting Fantasy Draft in the game there is nothing we can do about it and believed me I tried. I told them the Community would be up in arms and frustrated with the decisions they made, but they had reasons on why they had to take it out. My whole mantra “A Voice of the Community”. I go down to Orlando for one reason and that’s to give the people that I talk to every day on twitter, forums, in game stores, at Redskins games, the posters who have nothing but bad stuff to say about the game a “voice”. You tell me what gaming developer doesn’t think about the future of their franchise until after a game ships and I’ll show you a developer that has no future. You have to plan ahead and look ahead. Look, I have been called worse things than a tool, but I would ask you what have you done to make this game better. I constantly send feedback to EA, I have create wishlist, tips, information to the Madden Community long before I ever went down to Florida. The level of respect people have for me doesn’t rest on weather Madden 13 is a success. It rests on weather my opinion of the game is different from others and I mis-represent them. Like I said I’ve been very critical of EA SPORTS and their games because I’m a gamer not a TOOL

So can I like start with the lions and can I retire Jim and can I take over the redskins submit rg3 for a trade with the colts then retire shanahan Then can I take over as the colts head coach and accept the trade the. Return as Jim to the lions?

    • Shopmaster

From what I understand and from what I played back in April, as long as you do not advance the week, you should be able to do that. I didn’t try to trade people, but I did retire from coaches back and forth between weeks. However saying that there were some things that were automatically simulated once I retired from the coach, such as practice.

        Thanks man

  • truth

Ur right. A feature not being improved is much different than one being taken away because a multi million dollar company “didnt have time” fuck ea. and also fuck you. you obviously have them in your back pocket you little bitch boy.

  • LethalXKnife

Ea also talked about special comebacks of players does that mean I can have Peyton manning retire after two years in my league and in year 5 he could make a comeback to the league?

    • Shopmaster

I’m not sure who comes back but that is a possibility. I don’t think after 5 years but maybe after a year or two. They didn’t give us a list of everyone that would come back.

Love #5.. funny stuff. Hopefully madden is good enough this year that I wont be counting the days to NBA 2k13.
