Madden Social Hits Facebook and iOS Devices This Season

With the big items announced yesterday for Madden NFL 13 at the E3 EA Presser and the webcast showing off the Infinity Engine and Connected Careers, one little feature went unnoticed.  Madden Social is a cross-platform online game that allows for quick bursts of competitive gameplay no matter where you are. It’s free to play and available on iOS and Facebook.

Madden Crossfire is the name of the game and this is how it works.  Madden Crossfire is a turn-based football versus friends game mode. Complete a drive and pass it on. Play short drives, anywhere from just a few seconds to a few minutes. It’s an offensive shootout. You don’t have to control defense and there’s no wait. Play out your drives with the new Madden mobile 3D gameplay engine. You can have multiple games going with different friends, even if you are on Facebook and they use their iPhone or iPad.

Madden Social is a card-based game like MUT where you manage your team, sell your cards in the Auction House and use coins you gain from playing to acquire the best players.  You can also sell your players as well.

Here is the Madden Social Trailer with Trey Wingo and Jason Shenkman explaining it all.  I’ve also added some screenshots.
